Understanding IA credits better

With the introduction of AI features in Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscriptions, a credit system has been introduced to help you take full advantage of these advanced tools. AI credits are designed to measure and manage the use of AI-powered features across a variety of Microsoft products and services, giving you the flexibility and control you need.

What are AI credits?

AI credits measure your use of AI features in Microsoft 365 and Windows apps. Each AI-powered action, such as generating text, creating a table, or editing an image, counts as one credit. For example, asking Copilot to "summarise my inbox" would cost one AI credit.

How many AI credits do you get?
- Users of free applications such as Designer receive 15 credits per month.
- Subscribers to Microsoft 365 Personal and Family receive 60 AI credits per month, which they can use in various applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Forms, OneNote, Designer, Notepad, Photos and Paint.
- Copilot Pro subscribers benefit from extended use of AI features in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Forms, Designer, Notepad, Photos and Paint.
Note: the benefits of AI are reserved for the subscription holder and cannot be shared with other members of the Microsoft 365 family.

Managing your AI credits

AI credits are reset on the first day of each month, regardless of your billing cycle. This rule applies to both free and paid plans.
To find out how many AI credits you have, go to your Microsoft account.
Note: Copilot Pro subscriptions offer extended access to AI features in Microsoft applications without worrying about credit limits.

Use of IA credits
AI credits can be applied to a whole range of AI-driven tasks, including:
- Writing: Write letters, get tone suggestions or rewrite sentences in Word. Summarise email discussions in Outlook.
- Photo editing: Edit photos or create new images in Designer.
- Travel planning: Generate travel itineraries and check weather updates in OneNote.
- Job search: Write cover letters and CVs, or practise interview questions with Copilot.
- Personal finance: Manage budgets and generate formulas in Excel.

What are the differences between Office 365 and Microsoft 365?

Office 365 is simply the old name for this range of products. Microsoft renamed its solutions Microsoft 365 in 2020. In concrete terms, this has no impact on users.

What are the differences between Office 2024 and Microsoft 365 Home?

Office 2024 is a one-off purchase, unlike Microsoft 365, which is only available as a subscription that must be renewed each year. While this may seem like an advantage to some, it should be noted that the Office 2024 product is much less comprehensive than Microsoft 365. Only the basic applications are present (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote in the Office Home 2024 version, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook in the Office Famille et Petite Entreprise 2024 version), and without their Premium content. Users of Office 2024 also do not have access to updates and functional additions provided by Microsoft. They can only install the product on a single PC or Mac. Finally, technical support is limited to 60 days.

If I buy from you, will I be automatically renewing in subsequent years?

We have chosen not to offer automatic renewal to give you the choice every year. This way, you can check year after year whether or not we are offering the best deal before renewing. This way, you are not "trapped" and remain free to renew your subscription or not when the time comes, safe in the knowledge that you can always do so at the best conditions on the market.

I had a live subscription with Microsoft. Can I renew it by purchasing from you or will I have to create a new account?

It is not necessary to create a new account. By purchasing your Microsoft Office 365 / Microsoft 365 renewal on our site, you will get a new serial number that you can enter into your existing account. This way, you will keep all your settings as well as everything you may have stored on OneDrive, for example.

I have automatic renewal with Microsoft, but the price is much higher. What is the difference?

There is no difference, either in terms of functionality or service, between automatic renewal with Microsoft and renewal on our site, apart from the price, which will always be lower than on the Microsoft site. To be completely precise, there is a slight difference in the procedure: on the Microsoft site, once you have paid you don't have to do anything. In our case, you will (immediately) receive a new key to enter into your Microsoft account. It takes less than 2 minutes and saves you £10, £20 or even more depending on the version, every year!

Your prices are more attractive than the prices offered by Microsoft with automatic renewal. How do I disable automatic renewal for Microsoft Office 365?
This can be done very easily in just a few clicks. To deactivate recurring billing for Microsoft Office 365, simply go to this page: https://account.microsoft.com/services?ref=officesupport

Then log in using the email address and password of the Microsoft account associated with your Microsoft 365 subscription (in some cases, the connection will be automatic, you won't even need to authenticate).

On the Services and Subscriptions page, you will need to search for your Microsoft 365 subscription, then click on "Manage"

Then you just need to do one of the following:
- If a "Disable recurring billing" link appears, you must select it to disable this recurring billing.
- If a "Cancel" link appears, you must select it to cancel the subscription. In this case, a refund for unused time may be offered to you by Microsoft. If you choose to get a refund, your subscription will then immediately switch to "reduced functionality" mode. Otherwise, you will have access to your subscription until it expires.
- If a link "Activate recurring billing" appears, it means that the automatic recurring billing was already deactivated.
- If the option "Deactivate recurring billing" or "Cancel" is not available, and the words "Paid with" and "None" appear, it means that your current subscription will end on the date indicated in the "Expires on" field.
